Give grace. You are able.
International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is the "Gold Standard" of lactation certification. It requires completion of a rigorous criteria including 90 hours of education covering breast anatomy, nutrition and more plus 1,000 hours of lactation- specific clinical experience before being able to sit for the IBCLE exam.
The support of an IBCLC can be beneficial for a lot of reasons, but here are a few common ones:
Hello! My name is Jen Vidlak, and I am an RN, BSN, IBCLC with a genuine love for mother-baby care and lactation support. I have 18 years of in-hospital Women & Infant health experience and I am excited to begin assisting breastfeeding mothers in our community! I began my career as a postpartum/newborn nursery nurse in 2003. Over the following 10 years, I developed a love for helping mothers breastfeed their babies which led me to my dream job! I obtained my IBCLC and became a part of the hospital lactation team for 8 wonderful years!
I left my career in the summer of 2021 to focus on homeschooling 5 of our kids, which has been such an incredible blessing! Being able to care for, support, and encourage mothers during an incredibly precious season of their lives is something I find great joy in and I am passionate about!
